Cell Phones and Privacy

I think getting rid of prepaid cell phones is a bad idea. One can use this type of cell phone for a child just starting out with a cell phone to limit how much use they have. These types of phones are also helpful if you cannot afford a monthly plan. Not only that, but when traveling to other countries prepaid phones can be used to keep contact with other people in the country without having to run up your phone bill.

They should not be tracked by law enforcement. When buying a prepaid phone, they could maybe implant a system where the company selling the phone checks out the persons criminal record. If there is a warrant out for their arrest, or they may be in trouble with the law, they should not be granted a cell phone. By tracking prepaid phones, it's once again invading privacy American people have the right to.

The government is controlling too much of our privacy in their hands that could easily be linked. BY having prepaid cell phones you have a right to use the phone however you would like. Trust goes a long way.

Location Tracking

Putting a tracking chip in a human of any age is an invasion of privacy. I think that placing a chip in a child can only cause problems, and may not actually help. For example, if there is someone after your child, the data which is collected through the chip can most likely easily be found by a pedophile or a serial killer. The world we live in is not safe enough for this type of technology. People would use it for the wrong things and it would create a hazard. There are ways that it would help, but the bad out weighs the good.

Parents do have some right to place a chip on their children, but it would be very dangerous if they did as stated before. Though they are just young and it's for safety, it would not help. Especially in teens, it would be a big invasion of privacy. They are not legal adults, but they are old enough to function and know better. By placing a chip in your teen you are removing all the trust you should have for your child, which causes them not to trust you back.

Putting a tracker in shoes can be another story. Though I do not fully support such a thing, it would be helpful in people who suffer from Alzheimer's. I personally have seen a loved one overtaken by the disease that caused him to wonder. At one point, he walked out of the house and it took many people to find him wandering the streets of my town. Placing a chip in shoes that are warn just by Alzheimer's patients would be an okay idea, but not a perfect one.
